Why eat naeng myun only once when you can have it twice? In Diamond
Bar, eating naeng myun for the second night in a row, coincidentally
at another restaurant called Ham Hung.

There's always a way to make room for naeng myun. Quest was a success,
as we found Ham Hung Restaurant on South Ardmore. Whew.

When marketman leaves town for the weekend, and I get bored.

Actually, I made these out of marzipan for a "woodland forest"-themed baby shower. Deer, bears, and squirrels were just beyond the range of my artistic abilities.

Correction

In the press release entitled TRIVIAL PURSUIT COMEBACK FINISHES OFF “COUSIN’S NIGHT” WITH A BANG by Blake Sasaki, Ms. Chae was improperly quoted as saying "I mean, c’mon, they show a giant arch and get the question, which structure is in Missouri??" The correct question was "Which of the following is St. Louis?," and the correct image depicted a prominent arch. Furthermore, Mr. Sasaki himself improperly identified the ancient civilization referenced in the girls' question as Rome when, in fact, the correct civilization is Troy. The artifact displayed in the image was not "the Roman Horse" as quoted, but the Trojan Horse, a lesson often taught in elementary school and referenced in several historic books and films. We apologize for these obvious errors. -ed

Battle of the Sexes Continues

Some background for friends and the non-Nakamura/Sasaki relatives: what has become a tradition on this side of the family (if, by "tradition" you count it when it's happened twice) is a highly competitive, smack-talking-filled game of Trivial Pursuit. I know what you're thinking - we are not doing much in the way of dispelling stereotypes of the bookish Asian. It began two years ago when the Yoos hosted the cousins for a post-summer fiesta, and after stacks of carnitas tacos and a few many drinks, someone whipped out the Trivial Pursuit game board (sure, that could have been me) and a new family tradition was born. Though the girls sprung to a fast start and filled up our pie pieces before the boys achieved even one, after a succession of questions such as "In what sport do players attempt to hit a 'puck' into a 'goal'?" the boys ended up squeaking by with the win. Much track-talking ensued.

Fast forward to Friday night, when 6 of us set out for a sophisticated evening of French cuisine at Chouchou. We retired back to our house where it was revealed that Rachel and Damon "conveniently" "happened to have" their copy of TP for PS3. We divided up into teams along gender lines once again, and, well, read on for Blake's "official" press release...

Don't even attempt to glean any meaning from this one...I tried, and something may have short-circuited.
